Jordan McCabe of Kaukauna selected as Mr. Basketball

By Ritchie A. Davis, Executive Director, 03/16/18, 9:15AM CDT

Jordan R. McCabe (2018, 6'0", PG, Kaukauna HS/WEST VIRGINIA) has been named Wisconsin's 2018 Mr. Basketball award winner.  He becomes the 13th member of the Playground Warriors family to do so in our unparalleled history!

Jordan began competing in our program at the 8U/2nd Grade level in 2008 and has been loyal to PGC throughout while reppin' 4 different shoe companies (Reebok 2008-2009; Nike 2010; Adidas 2011-2016; Under Armour 2017).

Jordan's career numbers with the Galloping Ghosts most certainly make him worthy of this prestigious award:

2,442 points (6th All-Time in Wisconsin)
703 assists (1st All-Time in Wisconsin)
502 rebounds
242 steals

Jordan is one of only a handful of players in the history of Wisconsin prep basketball to earn Associated Press 1st Team All-State honors for 3 seasons (1st player to do so since PGC alum Jerry A. Smith)!  He has also been named to the WBCA Division 2 All-State team in each of the past 3 seasons as well.

Jordan is a 2-time Fox Valley Association Player of the Year. He has been 1st Team All-Conference in each of the past three seasons.

Jordan (4 year team captain) led Kaukauna High School to both the 2018 and 2016 WIAA Division 2 State Championships. Kaukauna High School had a record of 87-19 (82.1%) with Jordan in the lineup these past four seasons.

What makes Jordan truly an unique kid is his unmatched devotion to helping those that are less fortunate in his home community. In 2015, Jordan created the HOOPS 2 HELP foundation as a freshmen in high school. Since it's inception, over $55,000 has been raised for local families battling cancer and other serious illness. The events are centered around a basketball skill camp that Jordan runs for youth boys/girls ages 4-17.

In the classroom, Jordan maintains a 3.7 cumulative GPA while being enrolled in strictly Advanced Placement courses.

On behalf of the Playground Warriors, we want to personally congratulate Jordan R. McCabe on an amazing high school basketball career. We wish Jordan the very best in his next academic/athletic endeavor at West Virginia University!  #PGCFamily </div>
