INDIANAPOLIS – The Wisconsin Playground Warriors trailed, but only briefly, on Sunday morning.
A 16-3 run to close out the first quarter laid the groundwork for a 58-41 win over Earl Watson Elite to kick off the final day at UAA II in Greater Indianapolis.
It was a run that was bookended by 3-pointers, one from Mason Madsen and the other from Jonathan Davis. The Warriors connected on 4-of-8 from three in the first half, which helped further increase the margin with Earl Watson Elite shooting under 20 percent through the first two quarters.
Madsen connected on 5-of-10 (4-of-6 from three) from the field, ending with a game-high 16 points. Davis added 15.
The Playground Warriors (2-1) close out the weekend against Splash City at 11:45AM on Court 3. Earl Watson (1-2) takes on DC Premier at 11:45AM on Court 4.
